5 Star Goat Producers Sale

The 5 Star Goat Producers Sale was held on Saturday, Oct. 17th, 2009 at the 4-M Farms sale Facility in Yale, Oklahoma. Consignors; Circle Star Boers, JMT Boers, Windy Acres Boers, 4C Boer Goats, TRC Boers and Zap-Tex Boer Goats arrived on Thursday in preparation for the 2 day event. Friday began bright and early as animals were bathed and groomed for the sale ring. Friday evening seminars were given by Shon Callahan, hoof trimming; Jack Talley and Terry Taylor certified ABGA judges conducted a judging seminar followed by a judging contest. Saturday morning began with coffee and donuts prior to the morning seminars. Jeremy Church of Elk Creek Boers conducted a trimming seminar followed by a showmanship clinic conducted by Dakota Ash of Double D & G Farm, these were wonderful events and proved rewarding for those in attendance. Prior to the sale lunch was served, barbeque goat and beef brisket for those less adventurous along with all the fixings including an abundance of desserts and beverages. The sale began at 1:00 pm, by the sales end 102 animals had made their way through the sale ring were loaded and on their way to new homes in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Tennessee, Indiana and Maine. In addition to the those present, their were a large number of viewers and bidders/ buyers on DV Auction as well as those purchasing animals via phone bids. The High Selling Buck, C S B Bacchus sold for 2,600.00 and the High Selling Doe, C S B Noel sold for 6,500.00 both animals were Circle Star Boers consignments and purchased by Skylar Smith and family of S-T-S Boers. The High Volume Buyer was Darrell and Jennifer Mueggenborg of 4-M Farms. The quality of animals offered at this sale was proven the & following day as 2 new buyers purchased animals that went on to compete and win at an ABGA show held on Sunday in Ada, Oklahoma. Lot 53, a Circle Star Boers consignment won Overall Grand Doe. Lot 4, a Windy Acres consignment also earned a big win at this event. Congratulations to the breeders and new owners of these outstanding animals! This was a wonderful learning experience and opportunity to purchase some of the top genetics in the industry from an outstanding group of consignors, watch for updates announcing upcoming auctions to be held by this group.
