The 2009 Fall “Cowboy Classic” Boer Goat Production sale was held on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the 4-M Farms sale facility in Yale, Oklahoma. Consignors arrived on Thursday and Friday in preparation for the Saturday sale. On Friday evening consignors and guests were treated to a fish fry with all the fixins’ courtesy of Kirk and Darlene Perry of K&D Boers, Ronnie Womack of Windy Hill Boers also provided fish for this wonderful meal. Guests were treated to doughnuts and coffee on Saturday morning followed by a hearty “Okie” barbeque meal served at 11:30 prior to the sale start at 1:00 pm. We were blessed with a beautiful fall day and a nice crowd; buyers from Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado and Kentucky were in attendance. DV auction buyers purchased animals on-line from their homes in Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee and Ohio, as well as phone buyers calling from Oklahoma and Texas. At the sales conclusion High buyer awards were presented. High Volume Buyer was Kenneth Snead of Bushwhacker Boer Goats, Nevada, Missouri. Mr. Snead purchased the High Selling Doe as well, Lot 76A: Ash Creek Chelsea *ENB* for $6,000.00 a 4-M Farms consignment. The High Selling Buck was Lot 18A: 10B2B Mugsy’s BAP Macho Man consigned by 4-M Farms and Bobbie’s Boers. Macho Man sold for $3,900.00 to Terry Morris, Shekinah Springs Farms of Coyle, Oklahoma.
